Why use a LinkedIn paid licence?
Understand search, InMail credits and the difference between Premium Business and Sales Navigator.
A paid LinkedIn licence helps you find the right people and reach beyond your existing network. It does not run your prospecting for you, guarantee replies or remove LinkedIn’s usage restrictions.
Premium Business or Sales Navigator Core?
| Capability | Premium Business | Sales Navigator Core |
|---|---|---|
| Main use | Broader professional networking and business research | Dedicated sales prospecting |
| Search and research | Expanded LinkedIn profile research and business insights | Specialized lead/company search, saved leads and alerts |
| Monthly InMail allowance | 15 credits | 50 credits |
| Best fit | Occasional outreach and general business use | A repeatable process for finding and following target accounts |
These allowances were checked on 2 November 2026 against LinkedIn’s official comparison. Your exact plan, trial and account screens remain the reference for available features and balances. “Premium” is a family of plans, not one universal quota.
What does access to the database mean?
It means researching profiles and companies through LinkedIn’s permitted search experience. Sales Navigator helps narrow your audience using sales-oriented filters and maintain lead or account lists. This is different from buying a downloadable database: a licence does not automatically include personal emails, phone numbers, unrestricted exports, scraping rights or access to every member’s private information.
Use the results to decide who is relevant and why before writing a message.
InMail, messages and invitations are different
- Connection invitation: a request to join someone’s network. An invitation allowance is not an InMail credit balance.
- Regular message: a conversation through the messaging features available for that relationship and account.
- InMail: a paid-plan message to someone outside your network, subject to their preferences and your available credits.
LinkedIn does not offer unlimited InMail credits. Premium InMail credits cannot be spent in Sales Navigator or Recruiter; check the balance in the relevant product. See LinkedIn’s InMail help.
Which quotas should I watch?
| Limit | What to check |
|---|---|
| InMail | Your product’s balance and renewal information |
| Invitations | The limit or restriction displayed by LinkedIn |
| Search and profile access | The plan’s permitted search experience and any account notices |
| Automation | The tool’s configured limits and LinkedIn’s rules; one does not override the other |
There is no single daily sending number that makes every account safe. A paid licence does not automatically increase every invitation or messaging limit.
Do I also need Sendler?
Choose a LinkedIn licence for research and its included communication features. Consider Sendler when you need a separate interface for sequence planning and conversation follow-up. Their activation processes and billing remain separate, even in a package.
