What is LinkedIn outbound?
Turn a relevant audience into conversations, with a clear process for follow-up.
Outbound means starting a conversation with people who have not contacted you first. On LinkedIn, you identify relevant professionals, understand their context and approach them with a useful reason to talk. Inbound works in the other direction: people discover your content or offer and contact you.
The goal is a qualified conversation, not the largest possible number of messages.

A simple example
You help operations teams reduce manual reporting. Instead of messaging every employee in a company, select operations leaders at companies that match your offer. Read their context, write a short message about the reporting problem and ask whether it is relevant. A follow-up can add a concrete example rather than repeat the same pitch.
Which tool does what?
| Layer | Purpose |
|---|---|
| LinkedIn Premium Business or Sales Navigator | Research people and companies; use the features and InMail allowance of the selected plan. |
| Sendler, formerly Sendpilot | Organize supported sequences and conversations across authorized connected accounts. |
| Seatly | Coordinate access purchases, activation and billing follow-up as a commercial intermediary. |
| Your team | Choose the audience, approve messages, review replies and decide the commercial next steps. |
What should I measure?
Track relevant replies, qualified conversations and meetings, alongside delivery issues, refusals and account alerts. Review results by audience and message version. A high sending count with few relevant responses is a reason to improve targeting, not simply increase volume.
Keep outreach relevant, respect refusals and applicable data-use rules. Cloud automation and account limits explains the difference between convenience, security and publisher permission.
